First day of placement
I was f-king late on the first day because of the stupid train. Well, i missed my train.
But the orientation was great... just needed to get my chest x-ray done and blood test because it was too long ago that I had my vacinnation.
So case type: I totally thought I was going to do outpatient geriatrics. It ends up to be Geriatrics inpatient.
Therefore, I am pretty screwed because I did not have my mind set to geriatrics inpatients. I should have brought my notes from Queen Mary Hospital, those were very very useful. Damnit.
Otherwise, the working environment is actually very friendly. My clinical educators are very very nice. At least they didn't yell at me when I was late on the first day.
Will have more explosure tomorrow in the ward and stuff because we actually work closely with other allied health, including OTs. Allied health is named as health disciplines here.
I am exposed to the very important coffee shops in the hospital. Pretty sure I will rely on them for survival LOL.
Will update more when I know more.

My last relaxin weekend
Before the first day of placement, I had a reverse 6 vball tournament on Saturday. I played 6 whole games, without libero. It was an exhausted weekend but I won a VOLLEYBALL!!!! Met some really nice people too. Richard set really nice balls for me and we talked quite a bit. Lisa and I just kept talking nonstop when we were ref-ing. And she invited me out for dinner as well. Skyler gave me a ride home, omg... i lived far, so we kept talking nonstop as well. So besides playing vball, I talked the whole day on Saturday. Geez, since when I turned myself into a chatterbox.
Sunday was an amazing church day. We were celebrating Chinese New Year, so we had lunch together. Met my good old friends and young kids from the youth group. Some of the remember me and wanted to play vball with me. So funny that my name's actually attached to vball. This day ended with a buffet. The buffet itself was nothing special but, BUT, the CHEESECAKES were the most amazing thing on earth. In addition to the traditional New York plain cheesecakes, they had cherry cheesecake (which i am not very fond of) and MANGO CHEESECAKE which was a heaven on earth. OMG.. I had two slices of them and for once I didn't care how fattening they were.
Gotta get prepared for tomorrow's placement. Right my first day of placement!!!

Nice & Relaxin
Meeting up with my vball friends on Thursday night, had a wonderful practice with them. So good to see them again. Then one of the girls asked me to play a tourny on Sat. I am just toooo excited!!!
My original plan was meeting up with my ex-co-worker Lisa on Friday. However, I figured it was too far to go downtown. Therefore I spent the whole day watching the Australian open at home. Nadal was playing against Verdasco. It was such an amazing game. Both of them sprinted on the court. Even though Verdasco had a muscle cramp, he got over it and gave 110% effort. I kinda want Verdasco to beat Nadal but in the end, Nadal was more experienced. Geez.. what an incredible game.
We finally figured, that I am going to Jersey instead. Because he thinks it's gonna be too much for me. But my impression was that first of all he wanted me to meet his friends, and secondly he wanted to stay focused on his training once he gets to Florida. I am actually glad that it worked out to be this way because I don't have anything relating to summer with me.
And then out of the blue, he said something like "oh I am not gonna see you again after your visit....". Honestly did not know how to react to this.....

Let it SNOW Let it SNOW
People got annoyed with the snow, but I kinda enjoyed it since it's been too long since the last time I played with the snow.
Snowie snowie snowie snowie snowie snowie Snowie snowie snowie snowie
Quiet day, visiting my aunt.
Snowie snowie snowie snowie snowie snowie Snowie snowie snowie snowie
I called too late last night that he was probably asleep. So we talked earlier today. He said he wanted to go to Florida for training in the warm weather during the spring break, after my visit. But he wondered where to stay.
Then all of a sudden he went, "Oh My God..... Oh My God...."
"What is it?"
"My parents have a house in Florida and I totally forgot about that!!!"
LOL LOL LOL LOL LOL
And he invited me to Florida with him.
It feels so close.
I am still deciding..... if it's not too expensive...... well....

Safely LanDed
Finally I get my ass back to Toronto.
Got a litte jet lag, I got up in the morning and tweezed my eyebrows hahahaha
This is the first day I spent in here, so I went downtown to see a friend from PolyU. Since I lived at 19th and 9th avenue, which is freakin freakin far, I needed to take the GO transit downtown. I had no clue where I was that's why I needed a map.
Got lost even though I had a map in my hands.
Luckily, I met a guy who was walking his dogs. He showed me the way to the station, and asked me if I needed a ride. So nice....
Then following his instructions, I still got stuck in a crossroad. A black guy walked by and said, "Take the left one. It's faster." I probably looked too lost that people had to say something to me. Then he walked with me to the station.
This is what I meant "feels like home". Everybody's so friendly, helping out the neighbours.
Arrived downtown in an hour, I walked in the supermarket I used to go a lot. Geez... the 10 millions types of cheese, $2.99 Breyer's ice-cream, 10 thousands types of salad dressings, 3/$10 2L yogurts, skim milk in plastic bags, different types of oven made dinner. THIS IS so GREAT.
God I LUV Canada, even though it's freakin' cold out there.
Oh.. it was nice talking to him again. He kept saying, "OMG, I can't believe you're here already." But the thing is, I am not there yet. He's gonna be busy this week + saturday and I found out that I have way too many activities during this weekend. Therefore, I decided to visit after my placement, which is mid March. It's nice to hear from him from North America.

Very true LOL
“Whatever you give a woman, she’s going to multiply.
If you give her sperm, she’ll give you a baby.
If you give her a house, she’ll give you a home.
If you give her groceries, she’ll give you a meal.
If you give her a smile, she’ll give you her heart.
She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her.
So…If you give her any crap, you will receive a ton of sh!t.”

New Year Resolution
Anyways, yesterday I finally wanted to plan for something. Personally really dislike the phrase "new year resolution" firstly because I had bad bad experience of it. Til now I still didn't know the reason of being in someone else's new year resolution and it has been haunted me for these couple of years. Secondly because I'd never think that I could ever make it.
However, for a change, I am trying to be more hopeful this year and take on the challenge.
New Year resolution for 2009
- Graduation
- Graduation vacation
- Get prepared for PCE
- Set up a fish tank at home
- Participate in the Asian games (although I am not in control, i can still be hopeful right?)
That's it for now. Will probably add more later.
